Getting good photo of your boat is easier said than done. Here are a few suggestions to help you obtain an image that best compliments creation of your card... >> more
Photo tips
Photograph Your Boat
  • Use high resolution (megapixel) setting for your camera

Important features can be lost in a low resolution image while a large image aids the understanding of a boat's detail and whether or not to depict a feature in the artwork.

  • Use a front or rear quarter view

A quarter view adds depth and interest especially when used in a small card format. Side or end views can appear flat and lifeless.

  • Fill the frame but don't crop it

Get as close as possible to the boat without cutting off any of the edges.

  • Enlist a friend's help

Photos taken while under way make excellent Yachtcards - especially for sailboats

Will you create the artwork for me?
Yes. Use the contact form to send me a message with your email address. >> more
I'll contact you to arrange receiving your photo. Next, I'll do your drawing and post it for review. If you like the result, you can buy the artwork. Most Yachtcard artworks cost about $30. For now, I don't charge anything up front. I draw for a hobby and I'm always looking for interesting shot to draw from.
